2-Million Patriot March on Washington

This is amazing. 2 million people marching on Washington in a TEA party protest. I was taken a bit by surprise by it; I hadn't heard about it, and neither had some others who are involved daily in such news. Perhaps I do not watch FOX News enough. Yikes...could you imagine what this would have been like if everyone HAD heard about it. Could you imagine what this would have been like if everyone who wanted to go could have gone. Almost scarey, if you ask me.

The numbers are apparantly greatly under-reported by the likes of CNN and the Walstreet Journal. Both European papers and the D.C. parks and recreation claim the numbers are 2 Million.

What is this about? Is this a bunch of angry conservatives out to stick it to a President of color? Hardly. Its people who are frustrated that our government hasn't been listening to us for over a decade. Well, okay...they have been listening to us by tapping our phones and reading our E-mails, but they haven't been listening in ways that count.

The People don't want free-trade agreements...we get them.

The People don't want war and patriot acts....we get them.

The People don't want single-payer health care...looks like we'll get them whether we want it to or not.

We were holding out hope that perhaps the system would truly work. That if someone different was signed into office, that things just might change. Yes, some of us voted for Ron Paul, seeing that he was truly for change, but held at least some hope that President Obama would do as he said he would. That hope fizzled fast. We see how the system works now. Republicans want to be your daddy, and Democrats want to be your mommy. Their methods are different, but the outcome is always the same...the two are married and giving us a nanny state.

The sovereign people of the United States are growing up, and we can wipe our own noses now. We apparantly read more of the bills than congress does. We are even listening to lawyers and constitutional scholars and we are learning from them, rather than sitting in Hillary Clinton's kindergarten. We have seen how this so-called free trade hurts the poor rather than helps them....a $10 toaster is useless if we don't have the jobs to afford to purchase one. (Its also useless if I have to purchase a new one every year, rather than have one that lasts five years or more...like they use to.)

We're grown-ups now, Mr. President and Congress. We're wearing the big boy pants. You need to quit strangling us with your apron strings. And you and your media lap dogs need to stop calling us "racist" every time we disagree with you. We were called terrorist sympathizers all during the Bush regime, and we're sick of the crap. (Funny how calling people terrorist has bitten Bush's supporters in the hiney, though...they are now the terrorists.)

Mom, dad...you're fired. That's all that needs to be said. You are fired. And now I'm off to make my own darn coffee and my own darn bacon.
